We are providing a flyer with important information regarding Catholic-Sponsored units.

NOTE: ALL CATHOLIC-SPONSORED UNITS LOCATED IN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF LOS ANGELES ARE REQUIRED TO USE THE RECHARTER FORMS THAT WERE APPROVED BY THE ARCHDIOCESE.

It is important to understand that the Archdiocese of Los Angeles continues to fully support Catholic Scouting and in fact, encourages all Pastors to welcome Catholic Scouting into their parishes. But it is also important to understand that the Archdiocese REQUIRES that all Catholic-sponsored Units use the Recharter form specifically designed for the Catholic Church.

The following is a summary of the rechartering information that was presented by Mrs. Maureen Brown, Chairperson of the Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Please read this carefully and be sure to comply with these instructions.

NOTE: Due to forecasted rain this event has been postponed to a TBD date in 2024!

The 2023 Pio Pico District Cub Scout Adventure Day on Cub Scout Adventure Day will be on TBD, 2024 from 9am – 3pm at Palm Park (near the pool), 5703 Palm Ave, Whittier, CA 90601.

ACTIVITY STATIONS:

• Games / Face Painting
• STEM Activities / Advancement Activities
• Local Police & Fire Display
• Great Opportunity to meet and greet other Units and Leaders
• Calling All Cub Leaders to sign up and make this a successful Event for our Cub Youth!!!
• A Drop Off Box will be located at the Sign In table for Scouting For Food contributions. CANS ONLY please.

This Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 8am-1:00pm the Pio Pico District will be hosting a Camporee Service Project. We are looking for responsible scouts that that need service hours to help paint benches at Prado Regional Park, 16700 Euclid Ave, Chino (If you are registered and will attend please park in lot #2. No charge for parking.)

Please be sure to:

• Wear old clothing that you are not afraid to get paint on
• Bring a sack lunch and drink
• Have a unit permission slip and your medical forms
• Wear sun protection
• Register via email

If you are participating as a unit you will need to have leadership with your scouts.

If a scout is participating solo, he will need to have adult supervision.

No walk-in volunteers allowed.

Pio Pico District will be hosting our 2023 Fall Camporee on October 6-8, 2023 at Prado Regional Park, 16700 Euclid Ave, Chino, CA 91708.

The cost is $30 per person. Units can now register on the Council website at https://scoutingevent.com/033-PioPicoCamporee.

To participate in the upcoming Camporee with the captivating theme of Ancient Egypt, we kindly request that you register as a Scout Unit rather than individual registrations. This will help us streamline the process and ensure a seamless experience for everyone. Upon successfully registering your unit, a comprehensive email containing essential information for the Camporee will be sent your way.

We’d like to emphasize that there won’t be any day-use option available for this event. Hence, we kindly ask you to include all attendees, including Scouts and accompanying leaders, within your unit’s registration. Let’s embark on this thrilling adventure through time together and make lasting memories at the Ancient Egypt-themed 2023 Fall Camporee!

The 2023 Pio Pico District Good Scout Dinner will be a “Diamond Heist Mystery Dinner” and will take place on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm at the Doubletree by Hilton Whittier Los Angeles, 7320 Greenleaf Avenue, Whittier, CA 90602.

The dinner will be honoring the Whittier Police Department.
